Enterprise Zone
The Enterprise Zone designation provides investment tax credits for new development or expansion, sales tax exemptions for building materials and other benefits based on job creation and capital investment.
EDGE
The EDGE provides annual tax credits against Illinois income tax liabilities up to 50% of state income taxes withheld from salaries for newly-created full-time jobs for up to 10 years. A credit of 75% for new jobs and 25% for retained jobs is available for projects in underserved areas.
R&D Tax Credits
The R&D tax credit in Illinois is modeled after the federal R&D tax credit, including the federal definition of qualifying research. It offers a 6.5% tax credit on qualifying R&D expenditures, encouraging innovation and technological advancement.
ETIP
The Employer Training Investment Program provides grants to fund up to 50% of employee training costs for new or expanding businesses, supporting skill enhancement in line with new technologies and practices.
IDOT-EDP
This program provides state assistance for roadway improvements or new construction necessary for access to new or expanding industrial, manufacturing or distribution companies.
PSCG
The Prime Sites Capital Grant program assists companies with large-scale capital investment projects that commit to significant job creation for Illinois residents.
High Impact Business
Through this program, projects that invest $12 million and create 500 full-time jobs or invest $30 million and retain 1,500 full-time jobs may be eligible for tax credits to expedite their growth.
Blue Collar Jobs Act
The BCJA supports large-scale economic development activities by providing corporate income tax credits to companies that make substantial capital investments in Illinois.
MICRO
The Manufacturing Illinois Chips for Real Opportunity Act (MICRO) provides incentives for manufacturers of microchips and semiconductors as well as component parts for high-tech manufacturers.
REV
The Reimagining Energy and Vehicles Program (REV) provides companies engaged in R&D and the manufacturing of electric vehicles, renewable energy, green steel and associated component parts with diverse incentives.
DCIP
The Data Centers Investment Program provides owners and operators with exemptions from a variety of state and local taxes for qualifying Illinois data centers.
IRB
Lake County Partners is the clearinghouse for tax-exempt Industrial Revenue Bonds (IRBs) on behalf of manufacturing companies, helping to finance the acquisition of fixed assets including land, buildings and equipment.
